Position Title: Bindery Operator

Position Summary
Working under the direction of the Bindery Manager or a shift lead person, the Cutter Operator is expected to work independently and is responsible to setup and operate all cutters according to specifications on the job ticket, as well as train and mentor other associates in the department.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Reports directly to the Bindery Manager or shift lead person
• Read the job ticket and follow directions on the job ticket
• Primary duties will be Setup and operate all Cutters:

o Polar 66E
o Polar 115ED
o Wohlenberg 185 72” Cut Tech with micro cut
o Impro Rhino 110” with Micro Cut

• Secondary duties Run Folders:

o MBO 30”
o MBO 23”

• Secondary duties Run Stitcher:

o Prima Muller Martini 6 pocket w/cover feeder

• Train other associates on machinery
• Perform minor maintenance to the machines, as needed
• Pay close attention to detail
• Track hourly rates

Position Title: Finishing Line Operator

Position Summary

o Friction feeders

• Sort mail and tray all mail product

Digital Press Operator Positions Available
We are currently seeking 2nd/3rd shift operators as we grow the Digital Print Department of a large western suburban commercial print company.


Digital Press Operator Job Description
Digital Press Operators execute the print portion of client projects using the latest digital print technology including the Xerox iGen150 press and Inca Onset large format flatbed inkjet press. In producing these projects, operators may change many variables in the printing press set-up, such as dimension, color, or substrate. Successful digital print operators have numerous printing projects going at the same time and create schedules to reflect these various deadlines. In addition, operators may also need to play the role of a digital press technician if maintenance is required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operators are mainly responsible for creating the specified print material, maintaining the printing equipment and keeping inventory appropriately stocked. They may be required to print for a variety of clientele specifications.
• Print operators are preferred to be formally trained to operate and maintain the printing machines that they use, or have previous operation experience, which should involve hardware and software troubleshooting, color management, and file manipulation. Operators are responsible for contacting and coordinating service technicians for the machines they run.
• Digital presses require materials to be stocked in order to operate efficiently. Operators will need to order and stock ink, house substrates, and maintenance components as appropriate. Use stock ordering schedules to keep up with work deadlines.
• Thoroughly read and understand job ticket instructions. Adhere to strict quality control procedures, including color or image quality correction as appropriate. Operators are required to sign and include a quality checklist with each and every job produced.
• Maintain established schedules and prioritize work and proofs to meet deadline requirements and to maximize print efficiencies. Must be organized and able to respond quickly and calmly to rapidly changing client needs.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth production flow, and practice Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Light operation of small guillotine cutter, scoring, and folding equipment for proof creation and small jobs.
• Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma; some college or technical training preferred.
• Color management experience within a print environment.
• Inca Onset r40i and/or Xerox iGen150 experience preferred, but not required. We will fully train the right candidate who possesses demonstrated color ability.
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.


Position Title: Shipping / Receiving Clerk.

Department: Shipping


Position Summary
Perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/locations. Prepares items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
• Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
• Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
• Delivers items to requisitioning departments.
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, and forklift in loading and unloading shipments; operate skid shrink-wrap machine.
• Responsible for maintaining shut down procedures in warehouse.
• Prepares bills of lading and packing slips; checks items to be shipped against job ticket to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
• Performing inventory pulls from the warehouse using forklift and deducting materials in our WMS.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety and environmental.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED; at least 3 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Ability to maintain quality and safety control standards.

We are offering an outstanding opportunity to capitalize on a new and exciting sales platform joining sheet fed, digital and large format print capabilities supported by complex fulfillment--a highly desirable combination for the retail industry.

This position requires an in-depth understanding of print production processes with a passion for sales and relationship development. Candidates should ideally have at least 5 years experience in print sales and proven sales results.
